The tallow goes on fairly well, as it softens with the warmth of your skin. It leaves my skin feeling soft and not too greasy. The smell (unscented) is like when you cut the fat off of a piece of meat. I know tallow is beef fat, but the smell is rather offputting to me. I'm determined to finish the jar, since I paid good money for it, but I do wish the smell was different.
